On 2th June, the presentation event of the first seal certificating security in the industry took place in Leon.
Such event was organized by the Innovative Business Group
(AEI), which encloses more than 80 public and private entities of the sector,
and it gathered representatives of different companies in the field, including
the mayor of Leon and the General Secretary for the industry and pyme, Begoña
Cristeto.
The seal presented in
the event recognizes a certification scheme which includes those security
requirements any organization considered Critical Infrastructure as well as its
supply chain should meet. Thus, the seal recognizes the fulfilment of a set of
requirements such as communication protocols, data protection, human resources,
suppliers, services…etc. The aim is to minimize the risk for enterprises to
suffer cyberattacks and information leakage, and this is why the seal is of
enormous interest to the companies.
This innovative
endeavour went beyond Spain and culminated in Brussels, where an European
association on cybersecurity is being created and the AEI is thought to take
part in the association. This way, Spain is in a privileged position to see
what will be the future technological as well as the funding trend within the
forthcoming years.
Cybersecurity
represents a priority line of action in the European Comission agenda, with
more than 800 million dedicated to I+D+I projects.
